Unfair judge in Ventura, California
Pamela C. writes in:
My husband is currently in trial in Ventura county for a case in which he is actually innocent. But the judge wont even give him his legal right to cross examine the police officer. Also after every single objection our lawyer did, the judge wouldn’t allow it, even when the witness (accuser) changed his story, that objection was over ruled. What do I do? My husband is going to go to prison for a case he did not commit, and now the judge is being unfair. I even found out that the detective from the case was my ex-fiance’s brother whom use to beat me. (the ex, not the cop). And the detective is probably doing this just for revenge. But again the judge wont allow us to cross examine him. He didn’t even show up. Please HELP! Help before it’s too late and I run out of money for more lawyers and such. Sincerely getting an unfair trial in Ventura, California

Unfortunately this is all too common, judges are also lawyers and go along with their friends and try and stay popular. I’m involved with a case where the defendant lied (signed under perjury) in order to take control of their mothers estate. They would not have gotten this control if they did not lie. The judge ignores this, sides with others who also change or ignore the truth. The judge pushes you to trial which means more money for all the lawyers and never justice. Try going to the department of justice and filing a report, since this is taking away your rights.

I’m sorry to hear what you are going through. I had a similar situation happen to me. What you need to do is contact the bar association in your state. Good luck and may GOD bless you and your husband.

ive had several problems with biased and corrupt judges in ventura, my advice is simple you have the right to a peremtory challenge of the judge the same as you would in choosing jurors. you can also file motions to inspect the personnel records of officers involved to determine similar incidents of lying and other disciplinary actions. file motions or use freedom of information to gather data on the jud ge. then you can ask the judge to recuse himself from the case. if he refuses then you file a peremtoral challenge. failing in that you must let the case take its course then file an appeal. the legal system in california is broken.another ploy than can often wake up a judge who is little more than a polititian is to make your case public. place flyers buy space in newspapers get reporters to hear your story talk to t.v. stations try to make your case public, at the very least you may get a change of venue(moved from ventura)politicians hate adverse publicity. good luck

another aggressive tactic you can employ is to contact the california state bar and request formal complaint packet. the judge is an attourney. you will recieve a formal complaint form. then you fill it out try to collect as much data on the judge and submit this with the complaint.then the bar association must investigate this complaint and provide you with its findings. they will also contact the judge and inform him that he is under formal investigation wich could lead to disbarment. like i said before. politicians hate adverse publicity

file a formal complaint with the california bar assoc. they will send you a formal complaint packet fill it out accurately include as much data as you can gather on the judge find out if he has a pattern of misconduct. the bar must then conduct a formal investigation and provide you with its findings. they must also notify the judge that he is under formal investigation wich can lead to disbarrement. remember a judge is a politician and they hate adverse publicity
